Bio

logreybeam, eurorack, modular, electronic music, producerComposer, producer and sound mangler logreybeam [Gabriel Morley] utilizes his arsenal of acoustic instruments, an ever-growing analog synth collection [including a Eurorack modular] and custom patches and effects for experimental electronica, instrumental soundtracks and live sets.

Best known for his computer-based IDM production in the early 2000s, the last decade has seen logreybeam return to his acoustic roots [with 2012’s “Perhaps…,’] and then applying that improv and performance mindset back to electronica with live analog gear.

Apparent in all of his work is an innate understanding of music blended with technical proficiency – logreybeam effortlessly integrates stirring melodies, intricate beats and ambient layers. With a classical background, he entered CalArts writing full score orchestral music and quartets, but by graduation hadn’t written a note in years. Consumed by the computer music department he focused on programs including Max/MSP, Supercollider, and writing VST plugins.

logreybeam has toured through Europe and West Coast US, dates include Gent Sessions (Belgium), LACMA (Los Angeles), Rydal Festival (Sweden) and several shows in the UK. Logreybeam has played alongside the likes of John Tejada, Nortec Collective, Max Richter, Andreas Tilliander, Metamatics, Deru, L’usine and Richard Devine.
