IDM, logreybeam, Type, electronica, electronic musicA double release of logreybeam’s It’s All Just Another Aspect Of Mannerism (2004), rem.rem includes a re-mastered (by Shawn @ AudibleOddities) version of the original, and remixes of each track by different artists. …Aspect of Mannerism is an arrangement of sounds and textures – beautiful, industrial, abrasive and calm.  The space between the sound is as equally important as the noise, creating a seemingly tactile environment.

Logreybeam said of making …Aspect of Mannerism [2004]: It started with sound design, most of the sounds are acoustic samples that were mangled & manipulated beyond recognition… Usually the sounds let themselves go and I just went where they took me.  A lot of times the composition came out of restraining the natural tendencies of the sounds.

He used: A lot of different mics, nothing really amazing.  I knew that since I would be treating things so heavily, a pristine recording wasn’t my primary concern.  In fact, artifacts that occurred in the actual recording sometimes lent to the processing that I was doing, giving me unique and exciting elements to play with. Also, everything went though Max/MSP at some stage.

Remix artists include Proem, Ilkae and Proswell, who have produced for Merck, Monotonik and n5MD.

rem.rem is available by donation at Bandcamp.
